About This Site
This site is dedicated to children everywhere who are learning about Quakerism. KidsQuake is a youth outreach project of the Southern Quarter, of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. The content on this site is a very simplified explanation of The Religious Society of Friends, their beliefs, traditions, and history. Some sections are geared toward elementary age children. Others are for older students. Parents are encouraged to visit this site with their children. It is intended to explain as well as spark discussion.

This site adheres to web safety standards for children. No registration is needed, nor is there any attempt to get personal information from kids who visit the site on their own. Parents and First Day School teachers are invited to send in student created artwork, stories, poetry, epistles, queries, minutes, or photos of anything else their class or Quaker youth gatherings are doing.

Through out the site printable alternatives are provided. Teachers and parents are encouraged to print these out and share them with people who might not have computer access. Print publication and distribution of these materials is planned for the future.

Because this site is designed to give just the basics there may be variations that different Meetings and individuals hold to be true about their experience of Quakerism. To find out more about Quakerism on a much deeper level - please visit the links provided to the right. You can also learn much more by talking to Quakers at a meeting near you. In fact that is probably the very best way.
