Albert S. Bigelow
(1906-?)
Albert S. Bigelow was a pacifist and former US Navy Commander, who became well known in the 1950s as the skipper of the boat called The Golden Rule. This was the first boat to attempt disruption of a nuclear test in protest against nuclear weapons. The US Coast Guard stopped the boat twice. The crew were arrested, charged with contempt of a court order to stay away from the testing grounds and sentenced to sixty days in jail.
